T-Engine Forum Update: December 16, 2009
TRONSHOW2010 was held in Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi, Tokyo) from Wednesday, December 9 to Friday, December 11, 2009. Just as last time, the exhibition consisted of the "Next Generation Real-time System Technology Exhibition" which introduces the technology for embedded systems such as T-Engine and T-Kernel, and "Ubiquitous Computing Exhibition" which introduces fundamental technologies such as RFID tags and various markers and the world of ubiquitous computing based on the application services that use such fundamental technologies. Exhibitors showed various technologies and services. In this exhibition hall, the Venue Guide System using the state-of-the-art digital signage technology was installed to provide visitors with route guidance to the booths in which they are interested. In addition to the keynote speech by Chair Sakamura titled "TRON Project 2010 - The Key to Open the Ubiquitous Computing Society is Here!," TRONSHOW2010 has seminars and sessions such as "Latest IT Topics in China - From Supercomputer to T-Engine," "International marketing Strategy for IT Industry," "The Internet of Things: EU's RFID Policy and Application Framework - The Current Trend and The Future Outlook and How Japanese Companies Should Get Involved.," "Regional Revitalization with Ubiquitous Computing Technology (General Overview/Case Studies)," and Women@TRON. T-Engine Forum Update: December 16, 2009
TRON Enableware Symposium2010 (TEPS2010) was held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi, Tokyo). This year's theme was "Ubiquitous Design in Ubiquitous Computing Society." Chair Sakamura gave keynote speech, and panel discussions were held by Souichi Takahashi, Deputy Director-General for Policy Planning, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Yasushi Iwashita, Chief editor of Universalon, Digital Media Division, The Mainichi Newspapers and Noboru Koshizuka, Professor, Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, the University of Tokyo.

Feasibility Study Experiments of FY2009 Tokyo Ubiquitous Technology Project has started.

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Update: October 21, 2009
Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been engaged in the feasibility study experiments of "Tokyo Ubiquitous Technology Project" in cooperation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism since FY2006. This experiment aims to design a city based on the idea of "Universal design," makes the city more attractive and dynamic, and allows anyone to explore the environs comfortably and safely using the advanced Ubiquitous ID Technology.The experiments provide general visitors with the information on Ginza and introduce the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, etc. using Ubiquitous ID Technology. The experiments are coordinated with the Free Mobility Assistance Project of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and has started since Thursday, October 15.

TRONSHOW2009 was held in Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi, Tokyo) from Wednesday December 10 to Friday December 12, 2008. TRONSHOW has exhibition and seminars. This time, the exhibition consisted of the "Next Generation Real-time System Technology Exhibition" which introduces the technology for embedded systems such as T-Engine and T-Kernel, and "Ubiquitous Computing Exhibition" which introduces the world of ubiquitous computing based on the application services that use the embedded system technology. Exhibitors showed various technologies and services. On the seminar side, TRONSHOW2009 had more seminars than the previous years including the special sessions such as the keynote by Chair Sakamura titled "TRON Project 2009", "u-City / Space infrastructure", "The latest IT topics in China", "Open source is the trend of the time", and "Embedded System engineer: Human resource development methodology".Among sessions for embedded systems development, the session on the cooperation of "NoTA", which is a technology promoted by Finnish government to connect mobile devices, and TRON project was very popular. Sessions for ubiquitous ID architecture included the session on EU policy and future road map of ubiquitous computing adoption, one on the Finnish approach to ubiquitous computing society, and other technical sessions that covered the ubiquitous computing technologies developed in and outside Japan which attracted large audience.The exhibition introduced other activities of TRON project including the trial of TRON Engineer Certification Exam. After three days, the exhibition and seminars ended successfully.
