Mission
The Ubiquitous ID Center was set up within the T-Engine Forum to establish and popularize the core technology for automatically identifying physical objects and locations and to work toward the ultimate objective of realizing a ubiquitous computing environment.
Activities
The activities of the Ubiquitous ID center include:

Constructing an ID system of ucodes, which are assigned to "physical objects" and locations". |

Establishing the core technology for using ucodes. |

Data carrier devices to store ucodes (RFID, Smart cards, Active chips, etc.). |

Devices that communicate with data carrier devices (Ubiquitous Communicators). |

Establishing the core technology for information and communications that enables searching for information associated with ucodes. |

Establishing the core technology for secure wide-area distribution systems for ucodes and information linked to ucodes. |

Allocating Ubiquitous ID spaces |
| 5. |
Running the ucode resolution database. |
| 6. |
Running the eTRON authentication authority. |
Organization and System
The Ubiquitous ID Center operates within the T-Engine Forum (http://www.t-engine.org/) and its activities are mainly conducted by A and e members of the T-Engine Forum.
The organizations that involve A members include the "Ubiquitous Network Infrastructure Committee", "ucode Tag Technology WG", and the "U-TAD WG".
